Folksey Community Glass. Folkestone, Kent. Kiln formed glass learning workshops and glass making experiences with Emma Nightingale Glass.

Welcome to Folksey Community Glass

You may know me as Emma Nightingale Glass. Folksey Community Glass gives me the chance to branch out into teaching here in Folkestone, Kent, while continuing my journey as a glass artist. If you’re curious about learning glassmaking, this is the place to begin.

I offer glass taster sessions, glassmaking workshops, technique workshops exploring powders, part sheets, crackle, vitragraph, and optics and bespoke glass making experiences.

My background is as a kiln-formed glass artist, originally based on the Kent coast in Folkestone, where I established my practice in 2016. I am a member of the Contemporary Glass Society, Applied Arts Scotland, and the Scottish Glass Society. My work is inspired by the natural world around me—coastlines, hills, flora, fauna, and water—and by the way colour, light, movement, and texture can capture a moment in time that lasts forever.

For me, teaching is a natural extension of my practice: it’s about sharing skills, sparking curiosity, and encouraging others to experiment with the endless possibilities of glass. Whether you join a taster, a workshop, or simply drop into Glass Club, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive, creative space.

We are developing a booking system so you’ll be able to browse and book directly online. In the meantime, please register your interest by messaging me.

I look forward to welcoming you to Folksey Community Glass and to sharing this exciting journey of creativity, colour, and discovery with you.
